Refocusing our conceptual endeavors when mediaculturenature kicks in

Heterogeneity, accelerated performance cultures, rapid socio-material changes, and volatile conditions for and processes of social and subjective becoming seem to call for still more refined analytical and methodological approaches to research – not least while producing knowledge about the living of children and young people. In elaborating on this point, this presentation will bring in examples from research in e.g. sexualized digital practices among young people, bullying among children, and video gaming and gender.

Dorte Marie Søndergaard is a professor in social psychology at Aarhus University. Her main research areas include bullying among children; sexualized digital practices among young people; violent computer gaming among children; and imaginaries and normativity involved in robot-human interaction and technological imitation of the human.
