As Chair of the national Bibsam Consortium's steering committee, Astrid Söderbergh Widding has signed a statement from ICOLC, International Coalition of Library Consortia, where publishers are urged to make their content openly accessible. More than 80 consortiums around the world have signed the statement, which in brief urges academic publishers to open up their content due to the corona virus and the closure of university premises worldwide. The publishers are also asked to be flexible in terms of renewals and payments, and to consider delays in planned increases of the 2020 prices.
